Governor Pawlenty on Tuesday announced the launch of GetGo, a Web site aimed at connecting small businesses and entrepreneurs with resources to help them grow.
Likened to a "MySpace" for Minnesota's entrepreneurs, investors, the GetGo web site provides a business network where small businesses and entrepreneurs can connect with investors, resources, and professional services. The site, which features blogs, links to business resources and news, will launch Feb. 28.
The site was founded by veteran entrepreneurs Scott Litman, Dan Mallin and Tom Kieffer. Litman and Mallin founded the interactive consultancy Imaginet (now part of J. Walter Thompson); Kieffer founded several Internet firms, including Agiliti, which was sold in 2005 to Vericenter Inc. of Houston.
GetGo is also supported by education, government and business sponsors including: the James J. Hill Reference Library, the Department of Employment and Economic Development, the University of Minnesota, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota, the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota High Tech Association, The Itasca Project and Wells Fargo.
The site is located on the web at www.getgomn.org . The founders, through their work with the Minnesota Cup contest, discovered that emerging businesses need better tools to find the information and make the key connections that will support their business ventures.
